Rupert Murdoch ready to sue Google?

A new profile of septuagenarian media mogul Rupert Murdoch says that the News Corp. chief is ready to press legal action against Google if talks fail with the search giant over indexing content. In a lengthy article in New York magazine that hit the Web late on Sunday, writer Gabriel Sherman quotes a source high up in the media industry echelon who says Murdoch is "pretty tightly wound up over Google and has been ready to sue them...He doesn't trust them at all." The lawsuit, presumably, would come if Google refused to stop indexing News Corp. search results without paying a fee for them.

Skype disappears from Windows Mobile

Gone from the website is Skype for Windows and also Skype Lite for mobile phones which support Java, including smartphones based on Android. Sadly you can no longer download these applications from the official site, however, those that already have them can continue to use them. According to official representatives of Skype the step was taken because of the fact that the two mobile applications are unable to fulfil the basic purpose of the quality service which is of course to make calls cheaper.

That seems like a good idea, because the old slate wasn't tearing up the market. Digi to Sell IPhone in Malaysia, Taking on Maxis

Digi.Com Bhd., the Malaysian mobile- phone company controlled by Norway's Telenor ASA, signed an agreement to sell Apple Inc.'s iPhone in Malaysia to tap growth in a market that it forecasts will surge 10-fold in five years. "Growth is coming back this year," Digi's Chief Executive Officer Johan Dennelind said in an interview with Bloomberg television in Kuala Lumpur today. Digi will start selling iPhone 3G and 3GS in "coming months," he said.
