Marketing Manager

What we need

We’re here to disrupt the industry and take on much bigger competitors and win. We need a Marketing Manager who’s ready to take on that challenge and help take us to the next step. An experienced, commercially-minded Marketing Manager who can lead our corporate marketing efforts for both CCgroup and Aperture, and drive our business unit/stream marketing efforts in concert with the stream leaders.

Job Purpose

Our Marketing Manager will work with Rich and Will to drive the marketing strategy for the business; generating exciting new business opportunities for the agency. There is huge potential for progression within this role for the individual, as well as the future expansion of the marketing team.

Note: this is not intended as a business development role initially, though this would be the natural progression. We’d rather our Marketing Manager had the opportunity to establish a marketing strategy and plans in the first instance.

Key result areas

Strategy & planning

•      Creation of marketing strategy based on existing customer insights and evidence of previous CCgroup success, creation and execution of annual marketing plan

Website & social media

•      Management of CCgroup & Aperture websites – including refreshing and uploading new content, possible future re-design of CCgrouppr.com, improvement of conversions and CTAs etc

•      Lead the implementation of content across CCgroup and Aperture’s social properties, working in conjunction with our head of social

SEO

•      Management of SEO agency against agreed targets, support in creating SEM campaigns in conjunction with agency and steam leads

Content marketing

•      Creation of content marketing campaigns to support CCgroup’s corporate objectives, strategic and tactical support for each stream, which has a target to produce one content marketing campaign per year (four in total)

PR

•      Media relations: Support to ensure we announce our new client wins in a timely manner, management of thought leadership activities to ensure regular articles/guest posts appear in relevant PR, marketing and vertical media

•      Awards: Take the lead on ensuring we are entering the most appropriate awards and giving ourselves the best chance of success

•      Events: Help secure speaking opportunities for CCgroup’s leaders at relevant events

Account Based Marketing

•      Assist the stream leaders in establishing ABM approaches to categories of prospect targets (new for 17/18) – this may become relevant to Aperture once our new MD is hired

Business development reporting

•      Help corral the reporting of marketing activities and business development into monthly reports for the Board, supported by stream leads and the FD (we’re bringing on board a system that will enable us to do that more effectively than at present)

Environment:

•      Open office environment with a highly matrixed, flat structure

•      Fast-paced team (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.)

•      Scrappy and entrepreneurial - always more we want to do, than ability to do it

•      Roll your sleeves up, lead-from-the-front style leadership

Reporting lines      

•      Reports to Rich, CEO

Behavioural competencies & skills

We need someone who is a great collaborator and communicator, filled with ideas of how we can grow CCgroup, get our name out there, and help us to win some amazing new clients. To do this you must be a team player, our ultimate ambassador, have a great track record in a similar role, and be willing to get stuck in. You must be able to pivot between marketing for brand, and marketing for sales and connects activities to outcomes.

You’ll have a good understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels, proficiency with tools that can generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them through the pipeline (we use Google Analytics, MOZ and Hubspot). You’ll be able to produce highly effective content that helps CCgroup differentiate itself in the market.

This role is yours to develop and grow, we will give you the tools and team in order to help you to succeed, but you need to be a self-starter who’s ready to bring new ideas to the team.
